SALYERSVILLE - A Magoffin County man was arrested last week for allegedly receiving stolen property.

Brandon T. Lovely, 32, of Gun Creek Road, Salyersville, was arrested on April 21 for a warrant issued on April 16, which states Lovely unlawfully received, retained or disposed of movable property of another knowing it has been stolen or having reason to believe it has been stolen.

Officer Carl Neil Adams was contacted by Jeff Howard regarding a theft of items from his barn, including bridals, lead ropes, halters, and a 50' heavy duty extension cord, according to the warrant. Through an investigation, Adams took a statement from an individual who said Lovely tried to sell the items in question to him. Ultimately, Adams received information from an individual who stated he saw Lovely hide the items where Lovely's uncle used to live. Adams was able to recover the items from the location and return them to the owner.

Lovely was housed at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, charged with  one count of receiving stolen property under $10,000. He was released pending future court dates.
