Busted for growing marijuana

 SALYERSVILLE - A Magoffin County man was arrested last week for allegedly cultivating and possessing marijuana.

Jonathan Jared Minix, 27, of Salyersville, was arrested by Kentucky State Police on Monday, August 26 and charged with cultivating marijuana (over five plants) and possessing marijuana.

According to the arrest citation, Minix allegedly had 27 plants growing close to where he lives with a clear path leading to the plot of marijuana. He also had green buds of marijuana in a drawer in his bedroom, according to the report.

Minix was held at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, but has since been released on bond, with pending court dates to follow.
