Its almost here! Community Day. Come out join in the fun. Support your local non-profit organizations…
Community Day is planned as a fun event to help raise money for participating non-profit civic organizations in the county. The goal is to raise money to benefit Magoffin County’s people through the various organizations. Among this year’s participating organizations include – REACH, KMBTC, Teen Scene, Magoffin County Senior Citizens, Christians Care Fund, Woman’s Club, Kiwanis, Salyersville Renaissance, South Magoffin Community Activist Group, Rescue Squad, District 3, Middle Fork, North Magoffin and Bloomington Volunteer Fire Departments, Miss Magoffin County Scholarship Organization, The Funyons Homemakers Club, Girl Scouts Troop 1158, Magoffin County Homemakers, Magoffin County Shrine Club, Boy Scouts Troop 862 and Magoffin County 4-H Youth Camp Scholarship.
Planned activities include – food booths, games, raffles, dunking booth, etc. Also planned is a huge line-up of music. Scheduled to appear are – Mountain Heart, Blue Highway, Fast Lane, Rodney Marshall and Magoffin Counties own “The Puncheon Creek Boy” Charlie Sizemore also local groups Appalachian Rain, Dixie Bridge Band, Roy Roger Howard and the Good Ole Boy’s Gospel Group.
Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased at both branches of The Salyersville National Bank, any participating group member and at the gate the day of the event - children under 12 admitted free. Please bring your lawn chair.
Big Sandy Transportation Trolley will be making routine stops between the Salyersville National Main Bank and the RT 114 Branch location. Due to limited parking, visitors are encouraged to park at either location and ride in comfort to the park or park in town and enter by way of the bridge behind the Historical Society cabins.
