SALYERSVILLE - The 15th annual Magoffin County Community Day is slated for August 18, 2018.
Magoffin County Community Day, which will be held at Ramey Memorial Park starting at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 18, is planned as a fun event to help raise money for participating non-profit civic organizations in the county. The goal is to raise money to benefit Magoffin County’s people through the various organizations.
The following non-profit organizations will be participating at this year's Community Day: DAV, Magoffin County Senior Citizens, Christians Care Fund, Woman’s Club, Kiwanis, South Magoffin Community Activist Group, South Magoffin Volunteer Fire Department, Rescue Squad, Salyersville Fire Department, District 3 Volunteer Fire Department, Middle Fork Volunteer Fire Department, North Magoffin Volunteer Fire Department, Bloomington Volunteer Fire Department, Miss Magoffin County Scholarship Organization, Magoffin County Youth Baseball and KY Mission Bible Training Center (KMBTC).
Imagine, one event Magoffin County Community Day, touching so many people in Magoffin County.
Just as the community has come to expect, similar activities will be included this year, such as food booths, bingo, and games for all ages – the ever-popular money machine, raffles and much more. Also planned is a huge lineup of music. Scheduled to appear are – Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Ralph Stanley II and The Clinch Mountain Boys, Hammertowne, Barry Abernathy (formerly of Mt Heart) and his band Appalachian Road Show for their debut performance, Black Powder Express, Terry Miller and Traveler. Also, kids with the popular Project Echo event will open up the event.
This will be Rhonda Vincent’s second back to back performance at Community Day; she is a Grammy Nominated Bluegrass Queen! 8-time IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year! 6-Time Grammy Nominee. Most Awarded Group in Bluegrass History!
Tickets remain at $10.00 and can be purchased at both branches of The Salyersville National Bank and at the gate the day of the event - children under 12 admitted free. Mark your calendars and bring your lawn chair.
