CLEANING UP TOWN:  The Salyersville Fire Department held a controlled burn of a delapidated home on West Maple Street in Salyersville Wedesday, November 13. Fire Chief Paul Howard said the owners wanted the home to be torn down and, in an effort to clean up the neighborhood, the fire department burned it down. Crews worked Wednesday morning, controlling the temperature of the fire with water to not harm any of the surrounding buildings, some only feet away from the house.  No one had been living in the house for years, fire officials said.
