SITKA - The 2015 race season is close to going green and 201 Speedway owner Jarrod Breeding and his staff are eagerly awaiting the start of the new campaign. The 2015 season for 201 Speedway will officially get underway on Saturday, March 28 with an open practice for all divisions. All gates will open at Noon with practice set to begin at 2 p.m. Admission prices are set as follows: general admission - $5, pit pass - $10. Kids 10 and under will be admitted free.
The management of 201 Speedway has also announced RockAuto.com as a marketing partner for the 2015 season. RockAuto.com will provide the wristbands for all events in the 2015 season.
Historic 201 Speedway is scheduled to host the 2nd Annual Johnny Salyer Memorial - Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series presented by Schaeffer’s Oil on April 2. The feature race will pay $4,000 to win.
The Johnson County racetrack has additional racenights scheduled for the following dates: April 11, April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9, May 16, May 23, May 30, June 6, June 13, June 20, June 27, July 2, July 11, July 18, July 25, August 1, August 8, August 15, August 22, August 29, September 3, September 12, September 19, September 26 and October 2.
The area’s top dirt track, 201 Speedway will host the Lucas Late Model Dirt Series for the Inaugural Bob Miller Memorial on July 2. The Bob Miller Memorial will pay $10,000 to win.
