The violation of an EPO/DVO eventually landed a Magoffin County man in jail Thursday night on various drug related charges.
Landon E. Howington, of Lick Branch, was arrested at approximately 9 p.m. following a report of his protection order violation.

Following up on a call reporting Howington’s violation, Magoffin County Sheriff Bob Jordan said several different prescription medications were found in his possession.
Jordan said Howington had a prescription bottle for 100 Hydrocodone pills filled the previous day, but the bottle contained just 31 pills. A prescription bottle for 30 Diazepam contained just 11 pills, and another bottle contained seven Percocet pills, six Hydrocodone pills, and one Valium.
Howington was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on charges of possession of controlled substance second degree, first offence (two counts), and prescription not in original container, along with the EPO/DVO violation.
