SALYERSVILLE - A Magoffin man was flown out for medical treatment after a farming accident on Sunday.

Shortly before 4 p.m. 911 dispatch received a call for rescue and ambulance services up Stinson off of Lakeville on the Wardie Patrick farm, Magoffin County Rescue Squad Captain Carter Conley said.

Upon arrival, crews found that Randall Patrick left leg caught in a blade of a tiller.

Conley said it appeared Patrick was behind the tiller when the blade was accidently engaged, with the blade making approximately a half turn before disengaged.

A paramedic on the scene started two IV units and crews were able to get the tiller off of Patrick's leg.

Air Evac. 118, the new medical air service out of West Liberty ARH, transported him to the trauma center at the University of Kentucky Healthcare, in Lexington.

On Monday, Conley said trauma doctors had been able to regain blood flow to the leg and were hopeful, barring any complications, that Patrick would be able to keep his leg.
