Author and motivational speaker Grant Baldwin, author of “Reality Check,” visited Magoffin last month, meeting with Magoffin County High School and Herald Whitaker Middle School students.
Magoffin County Gear-Up Facilitator Mrs. Mary Gibson and her students at the middle school have been reading the book, and Mrs. Kate Fletcher helped to introduce the book to her freshman and sophomore classes. Impacting the students most were the anecdotes of the obstacles Baldwin overcame as a child. Having read the book, the students were eager to meet Baldwin and he captivated the crowd the moment he started speaking.
