GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Garcia named 15th Region Player of the Year

LEXINGTON - The Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches (KABC) has announced its girls’ regional player of the year honorees for the 2014-15 season. Among the regional players of the year is Sheldon Clark senior center Kelsey Garcia. Through 23 games, Garcia was averaging 11.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game for the Lady Cardinals.

Additional individuals honored as players as the year include Karlee Humphrey, DeAsia Outlaw, J’Nayah Hall, Morgan Turner, Morgan Rich, Alexis Brewer, Reauna Cleaver, Malerie Martin, Alex Hibbs, Hannah Dossett, Ally Mayhaus, Sandra Skinner, Dee Givens, Cameron McPherson, Maci Morris, Katie Moore and Alexis Robinson. 

All regional players of the year will be honored during this year’s Girls’ Sweet Sixteen at E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green.

The KABC girls’ regional player of the year award-winners for the 2014-15 season follow.

3rd Region: J’Nayah Hall - Apollo
Morgan Turner - Meade County
4th Region: Morgan Rich - Allen County-Scottsville
5th Region: Alexis Brewer - Bardstown
Reauna Cleaver - Elizabethtown
6th Region: Malerie Martin - Mercy
7th Region: Alex Hibbs - Presentation
8th Region: Hannah Dossett - Gallatin County
9th Region: Ally Mayhaus - Covington Holy Cross
10th Region: Sandra Skinner - Clark County
11th Region: Dee Givens - Lafayette
12th Region: Cameron McPherson - Danville
13th Region: Maci Morris - Bell County
14th Region: Katie Moore - Leslie County
15th Region: Kesley Garcia - Sheldon Clark
