HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL: Kennard earns latest player of the game honor

SALYERSVILLE - After hitting a home run and delivering four RBIs in Magoffin County's 17-7 win over 57th District rival Lawrence County on Monday, Alyssa Kennard was named the Player of the Game. Kennard was 1-for-3 at the plate in the victory. 

A player of the game for the Magoffin County softball team is being recognized on the squad's team page at MaxPreps.com after each game throughout the 2014 season. Previous player of the game honorees from earlier in the season follow. 

Player of the Game (April 5): Magoffin County vs. George Rogers Clark - Kristin Gamble (2-for-3, 2 doubles, 1 RBI).

Player of the Game (April 1): Magoffin County vs. Allen Central - Laylee Burchell (3-for-4, 2 doubles, 1 RBI; 5 innings pitched, 2 strikeouts).

Player of the Game (March 28): Magoffin County vs. East Ridge - Leslee Howard (2-for-2, 11 home run, 2 RBIs, 3 runs).

Player of the Game (March 27): Magoffin County vs, Paintsville - Darci Arnett (3-for-3, 2 doubles, 3 RBIs).

Player of the Game (March 24): Magoffin County vs. Pike County Central - Laylee Burchell (4-for-4, 2 singles, 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, 2 stolen bases, 4 runs).

Player of the Game (March 22): Magoffin County vs. Corbin - Hannah Skaggs (Allowed only one hit pitching, 6 strikeouts).

Player pf the Game (March 21): Magoffin County vs. South Laurel - Darci Arnett (1-for-3, 2-run home run).

Player of the Game (March 21): Magoffin County vs. Menifee County - Laylee Burchell (2-for-3, 2 doubles). 

Player of the Game (March 18): Magofin County vs. Belfry - Hannah (1-for-3, 3-run home run; 5 innings pitched, shutout, 12 strikeouts).
