"From the start, we shot ourselves in the foot by fumbling on the first play of our opening drive," said Magoffin County Coach Justin Combs. "That gave Knott County Central the opportunity to go up two scores and have the momentum. Their big quarterback threw it around well and their screen game was good. They really didn't hurt us with the deep ball but it was their short passing game and missed tackles that killed us. Knott Central is a talented football team and when they spread you out and throw the football they're dangerous. But we have to get better defensively. Offensively, we have lost quite a bit of our production due to injury but we still have to find some guys that are going to step up and make plays for us."
