Hospice of the Bluegrass hosting events this month

Hospice of the Bluegrass will host a “Community Memorial Service” on Tuesday, September 21 beginning at 6:30 at the Allen Baptist Church, located at 354 US 23 in Prestonsburg, KY. 

Everyone in the community, who has experience the loss of a loved one, is invited and encouraged to attend this special time of remembrance.  Guests will share their reflections.   The event will be held rain or shine and is free to the public.  For more information call Hospice of the Bluegrass at (606) 437-3700.
They also welcome those interested in becoming a volunteer to a Volunteer Training & Orientation, on Thursday September 23 from 10 am – 2 pm at the Hospice of the Bluegrass Office located at 101 Hibbard Street, Pikeville. 
This training provides education to anyone with an interest in becoming a volunteer for Hospice of the Bluegrass. Volunteers: are reading the newspaper to patients, gardening with patients, providing caregiver respite, hosting or facilitating bereavement service and much more.

They will host a Grief Support Group in September and October.  This group is open to any adult in our community that has experienced the loss of someone significant in their life.   The provide an opportunity to share experiences and thoughts with others that have endured a loss.  Topics will include the grief process, coping with change, and self-care.
This group meets for five sessions on Tuesdays beginning September 21 through October 26 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Hospice of the Bluegrass Office located at 101 Hibbard Street, Pikeville.  Refreshments will be provided.
