Dr. Will Kayatin, from Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative (KVEC), worked with a group of HWMS students this week, introducing them to LEGO Education WEDO2 Robotics Kits. These kits provided students with an excellent opportunity to collaborate using Lego’s and coding skills.
Students were able to use problem-solving and investigative skills to construct their own LEGO racing car, then immediately were able use computer coding software to program their cars for driving.
This activity allowed students to explore computer coding, STEM, engineering, and computer science, all at once. A special thanks to HWMS teacher, Mrs. Kim Marshall, and Dr. Kayatin for this amazing opportunity!
