Two Magoffin County people died in a two-car accident Friday in Madison County.
Martha Gipson, 26, a passenger in a vehicle driven by Martha Collins, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Kentucky State Police report.
Collins, 28, of Meadows Branch Road, was transported to Pattie Clay Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:08 p.m. on KY 627 when Gipson’s vehicle, a 1993 Chevy S-10, attempted to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone, the KSP report said.
The vehicle collided head-on with a 2007 Volvo semi-truck being driven by Michael Giles, 56, of Lawrenceburg, according to the report.
Giles was not injured in the collision. A child in Gipson’s vehicle was transported to University of Kentucky Medical Center and released earlier this week.
The KSP report said neither Collins nor Gipson were wearing seatbelts. The child, which suffered broken bones in each leg along with multiple bruises and abrasions, was wearing a restraint, the report said.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Magoffin County Funeral Home for Martha Gipson, who was laid to rest at Gipson Hollow on Mason.
