The Early and Periodic, Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) Program at Magoffin County Health Department recently promoted a campaign to increase well child exams for children in Magoffin County. Local medical providers were provided tee shirts to reflect everyone working together as “TEAM MAGOFFIN” to secure screening, diagnosis, and treatment for Magoffin County children. The EPSDT Program is for children from birth to age 21 who are eligible for Medicaid or birth to age 19 for Kentucky Children’s Health Insurance Program (KCHIP) recipients.

These health check-ups are available at the office of your medical provider, the Magoffin County Health Department, and your child’s school. They are provided at no cost to Medicaid and KCHIP-eligible children. Additionally, they are provided at no cost for all children at their schools. For more information regarding the EPSDT Program or to schedule an appointment at the health department for a well child exam, please call 606-349-6212 between the hours of 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday – Friday or until 6:00pm on Tuesdays.
