Magoffin County ladies place 27th in Class 2A State Meet

LEXINGTON - Magoffin County was well-represented in the Class 2A State Girls' Cross Country Meet at the Kentucky Horse Park over the weekend. The Lady Hornets finished 27th in the team standings of the state meet, which was held on Saturday. 

Highlands claimed the team title, finishing ahead of runner-up Ashland Blazer.  

Rockcastle County sophomore Victoria Dotson won the individual title by finishing 19:15.80.

Individual results for the Magoffin County girls' cross country team were as follows: 205. Stephanie Helton, 28:27.74; 207. Savanna Slusher, 30:43.37; 208. Alyssa Brown, 30:43.41; 211. Alison Cantrell, 32:15.68; 212. Mckenna Jordan, 32:15.76; 213. Sheila Collins, 34:3712. 

Along with Magoffin County, Highlands, Ashland Blazer and Rockcastle County, Calloway County, Mercer County, Christian Academy (Louisville), Franklin-Simpson, Elizabethtown, Franklin County, John Hardin, East Carter, Boyle County, North Oldham, Bourbon County, Scott, Shelby County, Western Hills, Warren East, Russell, Henry County, Casey County, Corbin, Bardstown, Spencer County, Taylor County, Boyd County, Highlands, Mason County, Paducah Tilghman, Martha Layne Collins, Lexington Catholic, Fleming County, Trigg County, Webster County, Glasgow, Butler County, Lincoln County, Rowan County, Wayne County, Greenup County, LaRue County, Bell County, Nelson County, Union County, Fort Campbell, Moore, Perry County Central, Knott County Central, Letcher County Central and Powell County were represented in the state meet.
