A Magoffin County man was arrested Saturday night on drug charges following a controlled buy conducted by the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Department.
Terry Paul Perkins, of the Meadows community, was taken into custody at approximately 10 p.m. after he allegedly sold a prescription pain pill to sheriff Bob Jordan.

Following the controlled buy, Sheriff Jordan said Perkins was taken into custody and charged with first degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree possession of a controlled substance, and controlled substance prescription not in proper container.
Perkins was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
Sheriff Jordan said he purchased one Oxycodone 30 mg pill from Perkins and that several of the same type of pills, along with the painkiller Percocet, was taken from Perkins.
Sheriff’s deputies Josh Pease, Phillip Russell, and David Slusher assisted Jordan in the arrest and subsequent search.
Sheriff Jordan said that a five-month-old child was in the home at the time of the arrest and was placed elsewhere by social service workers.
