MCHS duo picked for all-star game

SALYERSVILLE - The Magoffin County High School girls' basketball program will be well-represented in an upcoming all-star game. Magoffin County High School seniors Jamie Castle and Madison Reed have been chosen to participate in the 4th Annual HLT Check Exchange Kentucky-Virginia All-Star Game at Pikeville High School's T.W. Oliver Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday, April 26.


The game will feature the top senior boys' and girls' basketball players from Kentucky and neighboring Virginia. The girls' game will tip at 6 p.m. on April 26. A three-point shootout and a slam dunk contest will follow the girls' all-star game. In the nightcap at 8:30 p.m., boys' all-star teams from the two bordering states will meet to close out the annual high school basketball event. 

Kentucky team will wear their school's home uniforms.

In late-winter, Reed signed with Alice Lloyd College. 

Castle, the co-15th Region Player of the Year, remains undecided on college
