MCHS softball squad remains in Top 10 academic team nationally

LOUISVILLE — The Easton/NFCA Top 10 Academic Team rankings for the 2016-17 schoolyear were announced in October and Magoffin County is once again one of the top programs in the High School Weighted division. Magoffin County ranked sixth nationally in the High School Weighted division with a GPA of 4.329.

The Lady Hornets cracked the Top 10 for the third straight year. Magoffin County Coach Tony Skaggs iw pleased with his team's latest academic ranking.

"It just goes to show how hard the girls work in the classroom as well as on the field," said Skaggs. "It's a testament to our coaches and parents who have instilled in these young ladies how important academics are. I'm extremely prod of them for this accomplishment. This is actually the third year in a row that our program has been ranked in the Top 10.
