Two Magoffin County men were arrested Tuesday after a break-in of a house trailer on Lick Branch near 378 in the Far Middle Fork area.
Kendall Wireman and Willie Wireman were taken into custody by the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Department after police were notified at approximately 4 p.m. by an anonymous caller of a possible burglary in progress
According to Magoffin County Sheriff Bob Jordan, the men had forced their way into a trailer owned by Harlow Back and were removing copper wiring from the structure.
Both men were taken to Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville where they were lodged on charges of theft by unlawful taking over $500, which is a felony.
Sheriff Jordan also reported that several stolen items unrelated to Tuesday’s burglary have been recovered by his office and are currently in storage.
Sheriff Jordan recommended victims of robberies and/or burglaries contact his office at 349-2914 to check on the status of items that may belong to them.
“We have several items that are unclaimed and all people need to do is notify my office and if we have anything belonging to them we will return them,” he said.
“All they have to do is be able to identify them through serial numbers, distinguishing marks, or anything else that can establish that they own the items and they can get them back,” he added.
