The Magoffin County Fiscal Court was unable to convene for their regularly-scheduled meeting on June 22 due to a failure to have a quorum. Magoffin County Judge Executive Dr. Charles Hardin was not in attendance, nor was Magistrate District 1 Gary “Rooster” Risner, who is currently serving time in federal prison for conspiracy to commit vote buying (though his case is still under appeal). Magistrate District 3 Matthew Wireman explained to the those in attendance why he and Magistrate District 2 Pernell “Buck Lemaster could not hold a public meeting, and stated that to his knowledge a special-called meeting is scheduled for June 29 at 5 p.m.
