SALYERSVILLE – The Art Bar is set to hold an opening reception for featuring the work of local artist, Heather Owens, on August 1st at 6 PM. Owens’ work is a fresh and surreal vision of whimsical animals with a heavy featuring of chicken characters and brief visions of darkness in the form of human skull pieces. This exhibit is a mix of Owens’ paintings and string art.
When asked about her work, Owens said “It's not just the typical old man sitting on a porch peeling an apple. Everything from Eastern Kentucky is not quite like that. Granted, mine is chickens, but it's a chicken dinosaur." The reception is a free event, and refreshments will be served. The Art Bar would like to invite everyone out for an evening of art and conversation. All are welcome.

Owned by Brooklynn Messer, The Art Bar is a local business that focuses on the arts and acts as a gallery. If you would like more details on Art Bar, please contact Brooklynn at theartbarsalyersville@gmail.com or 606.264.2865 or find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/theartbarsalyersville.
