The sesquicentennial committee, with the cooperation of the local historical society, is planning to publish a book as part of our 150th year celebration.

Committee members are asking for public help about the history of Magoffin County churches, organization, communities (Including those that no longer exist) and other interesting tales. These narratives will be printed in our book and preserved as a permanent history of our county.
The committee is urging each pastor or organization leader to write, or designate someone to do so, a two-page (typed) history of his or her group.
If pictures are included you may use three pages. The same applies to family or community stories. Please try to have these stories submitted no later than March 1, 2010.
Also, if you have a reunion during the year we would like you to take pictures and write a two-page story about the event. These can be submitted during the year as your event occurs.
Please mail your submission to: Sesquicentennial Committee, P.O. Box 430, Salyersville, KY 41465, or you may drop the info off at the office of the Magoffin County Judge on the second floor of the court house.
Make sure your story is included in this 150th year celebration book.
