Salyersville Grade School students Addison Gullett, Abigayle Collett, and Katie Carty, along with teacher Mrs. Tara Howard, attended the FIRE Summit held at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center on April 11, 2018.
Mrs. Howard’s project, “Full STEAM Ahead,” was awarded a Learning Innovation Grant. The grant money was used to supply her classroom with tools useful for engaging students in a STEAM curriculum. Mrs. Howard and her students presented the project at the Summit.
After their presentation, these students also participated in hands-on robotics activities and toured student-constructed tiny houses.
The Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative (KVEC) organized this spectacular event.
