FRANKFORT, KY (Friday, August 04, 2017) – Kentucky State Treasurer Allison Ball was in Magoffin County on Thursday, speaking about initiatives in her office and how they relate to Magoffin County.

“I enjoyed talking with local community and business leaders in Magoffin County about how the initiatives I have implemented impact their county,” Treasurer Ball stated. “I continue to be a watchdog for the people of Kentucky, and I am proud of the strides I have made to bring greater transparency and save taxpayer dollars.”

Treasurer Ball was integral in the launch of a new transparency website,, which makes information about government spending more accessible to Kentuckians.

“As a proud eastern Kentuckian, I am excited to share with Magoffin Countians about how I am fighting to protect how their dollars are spent in Frankfort,” Ball stated. “I believe transparency and fiscally responsible spending are integral to the success of our state.”

Treasurer Ball continues to fight to ensure that money is spent constitutionally, including by filing suit to ensure that pension dollars were not spent frivolously by a removed Kentucky Retirement Systems trustee. She also launched STABLE Kentucky, a savings option for individuals with disabilities, and continues to return hundreds of thousands of dollars in unclaimed property to Kentuckians each week.
