UNITE needs YOUR help

Printer-friendly versionPDF version

When:    6 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011

Where:    Magoffin County Health Department, 132 East Mountain Parkway, Salyersville
Who:    All citizens who are concerned about our children obtaining over-the-counter or prescription drugs should attend this important meeting.
Why:    • The majority of youth who experiment with prescription drugs for the first time obtain the drugs from family members or friend’s family members without consent – making that person an “Accidental Dealer.”

    • The average age of first-time drug use in southern and eastern Kentucky is age 11.
What:    The Accidental Dealer community awareness campaign will run in Magoffin County from January through March.  Volunteers are desperately needed to spread the word about keeping drugs out of our children’s reach.

The purpose of the meeting, which will last approximately 1 hour, is to explain the various components of this education campaign and provide you with all materials needed to be involved.
