Two people were transported to the hospital after sliding over an embankment on Route 1081, just past Route 3333, on Tuesday, July 22.
Stacey and Daniel Howard were traveling on Route 1081, when they came into a steep curve and lost control, sliding their vehicle over 100 feet over an embankment, Magoffin County Rescue Squad Captain Carter Conley said.
The two complained of neck and back pain and were transported to the hospital, neither suffering life-threatening injuries.
Conley said the Howards travelled the road daily, but the sharp curve took them by surprise, combined with slick roads from rain earlier that day, causing the wreck. Conley said the two were lucky there were no trees around in the pasture they slid into, as well as being able to not turn over.
The accident was investigated by the Kentucky State Police.
