Frank Shell, Jr. age 70 of Southeast Licking River Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born January 18, 1947 in Sweet Water, Florida to the late Frank and Audrey Emogene Perry Shell. He was the husband of Minerva Jean Howard Shell, who survives.
Survivors also include five sons, Frank Shell III, James Shell, and Bill Shell all of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, and Charles Vanderpool and Andy Vanderpool both of Salyersville, Kentucky, one daughter, Nora Sue McMackin of Salyersville, Kentucky, three brothers, Charles Shell of Allen, Kentucky, Bill Shell of Salyersville, Kentucky, and Ballard Shell of Indiana, and two sisters, Annabelle Jervis of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, and Jamie Sue Shell of Tennessee. Several grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Vanderpool and Paul Vanderpool, two daughters, Ruby Ann Shell and Ruann Shell, three brothers, Freddie Shell, David Shell, and Edgar Shell, and one sister, Ruby Shell.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 pm Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Shepherd, Herman Roberts, Bill Miller and Richard Rife officiating. Burial followed in the Helen Conley Cemetery at Trace, Kentucky. Military rites were given by Salyersville DAV the day of services. Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
