Kermit Howes, better known as Arnold, age 77 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was born March 17, 1940 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Henry and Leneva Fletcher Howes. He was the husband of Sallie Hale Howes, who survives. Survivors also include two sons, Kermit Wayne (Jill) Howes of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, and William Henry (Chasta) Howes of Salyersville, Kentucky, two brothers, Luster Ray Howes and Dale Edward Salyer both of Salyersville, Kentucky, and four grandchildren, Elijah Howes, Morgan Howes, Tayler Howes, and Briana Howes. In addition to his parents, Arnold is preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald Howes, Darrel Dean Howes, and Henry Eugene Howes. Funeral services were conducted at 11 am Friday, April 14, 2017 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Patrick officiating. Burial followed in the Fletcher Cemetery at Gun Creek, Kentucky.
