Melvin Bailey age 52 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at the Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born September 09, 1968 in West Liberty, Kentucky to the late Arbie and Dessie Mullins Bailey. Survivors include two children, Shawna Meade, James (Kimberly) Hopkins, both of Hazard, Kentucky, six brothers, Ronnie Bailey of West Liberty, Kentucky Phillip Bailey of Salyersville, Kentucky, Gary Bailey of Morehead, Kentucky, Donnie Bailey of Campton, Kentucky, Mike Bailey of Salyersville, Kentucky, Joe Bailey of Salyersville, Kentucky, four sisters, Barbara Conley of Owingsville, Kentucky, Lois Smith of West Liberty, Kentucky, Kathy Smithers of Salyersville, Kentucky, Sue Perkins of Salyersville, Kentucky, six grandchildren, Gracie Hopkins, Anthony Hopkins, Breanna Hopkins, Connor Williamson, Courtney (Michael) Patrick all of Salyersville, Kentucky, Tyler (Chrystal) Williamson of Garner, Kentucky, one great grandchild, Nevaeh Williamson of Garner, Kentucky, with a host of nieces, nephew, family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Melvin is preceded in death by one brother Lon C, Bailey, and one son, Donnie Hopkins, Jr.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 04, 2021 from the Bethlehem To Calvary Apostolic Church with Johnny Reed officiating. Burial followed in the Bailey Cemetery at White Oak, Kentucky.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Magoffin County Funeral Home.
