Ocie Miller Lykins

Ocie Miller Lykins, widow of Arthur Lykins, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, at her residence in Staffordsville, KY.  Born January 1, 1935, in Half Mountain, Magoffin County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Polly (Pop) Cole Miller.
Ocie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She was a graduate of Prestonsburg Community College where she obtained an Associate in Arts Degree.  She was a member of the Paintsville Business and Professional Women’s Club.  Ocie was a talented artist and poet, as well as a successful Mary Kay Consultant for 30 plus years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found joy in serving her family.
Ocie is survived by her children:  Gloria (Thomas) Hill and Darlene Risner, both of Staffordsville, KY; three grandchildren: Jonathan Michael Risner, Valerie Lykins (Jeremy) Edgeworth, and Thomas Alexander Hill; and one great grandchild, David Lewis Edgeworth.  She was preceded in death by her siblings:  Ida Miller Bailey, Lula Miller Back, Cleda Mae Miller White, Ernest Miller, and Levna Miller May Howard.  
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon with a service immediately following at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 195 KY Rt 1559, Wittensville, KY 41274.  Elders of the church will officiate. 
Burial followed in Highland Memorial Park, 551 KY Rt 2275, Staffordsville, KY 41256.
Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead were in charge of arrangements.
