Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Pearl Williams, 90, Salyersville, KY and formerly of Algood will be held Friday September 18, at 1 p.m. in the Algood Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Monday officiating. Interment will follow in the Paran Cemetery.
Mrs. Williams died Sunday morning September 13, 2009 in the Salyersville Health Care Center in Salyersville.
Mrs. Williams was born March 15, 1919 in Cumberland County, Tennessee to the late Eston Kelly and Martha Emily Elmore Williams.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the Rickman First Baptist Church and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dow Williams; and five sisters, Cora Burgess, Ruth Boswell, Estelle Edwards, Edna Baisley, and Kelly Masters.
She is survived by her daughter, Myra Burton of Rickman; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard & Pam Williams, Garry & Linda Williams all of Salyersville, KY, and Donnie & Sandi Williams of Bowling Green, KY; 19-grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; and sister, Norma (Bill) Gamble of Atlanta, GA.
Mrs. Williams grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Williams’ family will receive friends Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at the Algood Chapel.
