Former Salyersville Mayor Dies

Former Salyersville mayor and local businessman Willie "Bill" Slone was laid to rest Friday near his home in Huber Heights, Ohio.
Slone, who served as mayor in 1960, passed away last week after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Well known and respected for his civil and social work, Slone was named mayor in 1960 to replace Dr. Lloyd M. Hall, who resigned the position.
