A Magoffin County woman was hospitalized with possible head injuries following a one-vehicle accident Wednesday morning.
Janelle Howard, 25, was air-lifted to Cabell-Huntington Hospital after her vehicle left the road way and became lodged against a tree, according to Captain Carter Conley of the Magoffin County Rescue Squad.
Howard lost control of her vehicle on Litteral Fork Hill just off Route 40 at around 9:30 and crashed into a trash bin before traveling over an embankment and settling against a tree.
Captain Conley said Howard showed signs of possible head trauma following the accident.
A landing zone was set up under the direction of the rescue squad and the North Magoffin Fire Department to transport Howard.
The rescue squad worked another accident Tuesday morning involving a dump truck driven by Alvin Ratliff and a car operated by Robert May.
The two vehicles collided near the Paddle Creek and Route 378 intersection at approximately 8 a.m.
According to Captain Conley, Ratliff was uninjured but May was transported to Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville by DHP Ambulance Service complaining of neck and back pain.
