Funeral services were held Wednesday for a Magoffin County youth who died from injuries he suffered in a weekend motorcycle accident.
Burial for 16-year-old Jeffery Austin Carson Adams, of Dixie Avenue, followed at Bluegrass Cemetery in Salyersville.
Adams, the son of Jack Todd Adams and Susan Mortimer Adams Waits, was injured after he lost control of his motorcycle while riding with friends at Ramey Memorial Park late Saturday.
Official accounts of the accident varied. However, Adams apparently lost control of his vehicle after traveling over a speed bump, causing him to crash into bleachers and a fence near the park’s softball field.
He was pronounced dead at Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.
Adams, who would have been a sophomore at Magoffin County High School, was the grandson of Jim and June Mortimer, of Dixie Addition.
