Suspects Identified in Drug Investigation

Twenty people face criminal charges as a result of an undercover investigation into illegal drug sales in Magoffin County.
A variety of prescription narcotics were purchased during the year-long investigation by Operation UNITE detectives. In addition, several suspects were charged after marijuana plants were found growing at their homes.

Law enforcement officers from the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office and Salyersville Police Department assisted UNITE in trying to locate the suspects on August 11-12. Two suspects were arrested August 17 with help from the Johnson County Probation and Parole office and the Paintsville Police Department.
Additional arrests are expected in the near future.
Through Monday, 12 people had been charged as a result of the investigation. They are:
• Alicia Fee, age 24, Oak Lawn Estate, Hager Hill (Johnson County), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Ronald Fee, age 43, Oak Lawn Estate, Hager Hill (Johnson County), second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
• Efrmin Oscalo Garcia, age 26, Route 40, Salyersville, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• John Isaac, age 43, Flat Fork, Salyersville, two counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Brenda Woodford Morgan, age 47, Route 378, Salyersville, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Kenneth Morgan, age 45, Route 378, Salyersville, two counts second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Chester Prater, age 46, Roanne Road, Salyersville, cultivating marijuana more than 5 plants.
• James Neil Rice, age 38, Burning Fork Road, Salyersville, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Chester Dewayne Risner, age 31, Trace Branch, Gunlock, two counts forgery of a prescription and two counts first-degree unauthorized procurement of a controlled substance.
• Donny Risner, age 47, Middle Fork, Salyersville, two counts first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Ruth Shepherd, age 48, Howard Branch Road, Salyersville, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
• Jimmy Jack Wireman, age 29, Route 378, Salyersville, criminal summons for first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
