A local deputy was involved in a car crash on Saturday May 8th, while on duty.
Deputy Darvin Marsilette was driving on route 7 in response to a domestic violence call dispatched to him from Magoffin County 911. The vehicle in front of Marsilette, driven by a minor teenager, made an abrupt turn in the road causing the deputy to hit the vehicle in a t-bone position. Sheriff Bob Jordan explained that Kentucky State Police must handle the investigation in lieu of local officers due to the involvement of Deputy Marsilette. The State Police officer was unavailable for questioning regarding the details of the accident.
