Flossie Howard, 88, of Commercial Blvd., Piketon, Ohio, died 11:21 p.m.
Monday, October 26, 2009 at Southern Ohio Medical Center, Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was born May 4, 1921 in Salyersville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Grover and Martha (Adkins) Howard. On July 28, 1941, Flossie was united in marriage to Richmond Howard who preceded her in death on October 30, 2005.
Surviving are five children, William Louis Howard and wife Margie of Piketon, Ohio, Elwood Howard and wife Gayl of Piketon, Ohio, Mildred Sue Hunt and husband Stephen of Bainbridge, Ohio, Leroy Howard and wife Rhonda and Teresa Williams and husband Terry, both of Piketon, Ohio; former daughter-in-law, Toylia Mae Jenkins; 11 grandchildren, Phillip Howard, Kim Howard, Angie (Lewie) Pritchett, Anthony (Michele) Howard, Tracy (Ryan) Hughes, Shannon (Tom) Kelley, Tyler Williams, Stacy Howard, Miranda Howard, Chelsea (Terry) Spencer and Trenton Williams; fifteen great-grandchildren and three sisters, Louise Ward and husband Raymond and Roncie Collinsworth and husband Lacy, both of Salyersville and Edith Howard of Ashland, Kentucky.
In addition to her parents and husband, two sons, Phillip Ray and Larry Howard, granddaughter, Amanda Gayl Howard, a brother, Beckham Howard, four sisters, Ethel Hensley, Easter Arnett, Zada Russell and Gustie Helton and two half-brothers, Raney and Dudley Howard preceded Flossie in death.
Flossie was a homemaker and a member of Morgan Fork United Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 at the
Morgan Fork United Baptist Church, Waverly, with Elders Arvil C. Murray, Paul Blanton and John Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery, Waverly.
Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the church on Friday.
