Arnett signs with Cumberlands

SALYERSVILLE - Magoffin County High School senior Darci Arnett made her college choice official earlier in the week, signing with the University of Cumberlands softball program. Arnett helped to lead Magoffin County to the 2013 15th Region championship.

Through five games in her senior season, Arnett is batting .389 with one home run, one double and four RBIs. Arnett has accounted for seven hits in 18 at-bats thus far in the 2014 season.

Angie Dean is in her 18th season as head coach of the Cumberlands softball team. Located in Williamsburg, Cumberlands competes in the Mid-South Conference (MSC), which also features Pikeville, Campbellsville, Lindsey Wilson, Georgetown, St. Catharine, Rio Grande, Cumberland (Tenn.), Shawnee State and Bluefield. 

Just off Interstate 75, Cumberlands is a private, liberal arts college.
