Castle set to play in Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Game

SALYERSVILLE - Magoffin County High School senior Jamie Castle is set to play in the 23rd Annual Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Basketball Game at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills. Tip-off for this year's Ohio-Kentucky girls' game is set for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. 

Annually, Ohio and Kentucky all-star boys' and girls' basketball teams meet at the Northern Kentucky college. In the girls' all-star game series, Kentucky holds a 13-8 lead. Along with Castle, the Kentucky girls' all-star basketball team's roster features MacKenzie Cann (Anderson County), Devin Conley (Boyle County), Sarah Cooley (Lafayette), Sarah Futscher (Bishop Brossart), Nicole Kiernan (Newport Central Catholic), Danielle Lawrence (Butler), Eriel McKee (Anderson), Ashley McMurtrey (Oldham County), Rachel Potter (Pikeville), Kayla Rankin (Perry County Central), Madison Raque (Eastern), Erica Rogers (Montgomery County), Brooke Todd (Dunbar) and Taylor Wheeler (Boyd County).

Bill Bradley (Ashland) will serve as the all-star team's head coach. George Still (Newport Central Catholic) and Sarah Bridenbaugh (Dunbar) are assistant coaches for the all-star team.  

As part of a busy weekend, Castle will attend tryouts for the Kentucky All-Star team that will face Indiana All-Stars in June. She will attend tryouts for the Kentucky-Indiana series on Sunday at Georgetown College. 

The KABC will coordinate the upcoming Kentucky All-Star tryouts and choose players for this summer's Kentucky-Indiana All-Star games.

In January, the Bluegrass Sports Commission and the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation announced a three-year contract for Kentucky's games in the all-star classics to be played in Lexington.

This year’s Kentucky-Indiana games will be held at Transylvania University in the Beck Center on June 13.
