Baseball Hornets to play in Big Jack Classic

SALYERSVILLE - The Magoffin County Baseball Hornets will visit Grayson both Friday and Saturday for the East Carter-hosted Big Jack Classic. On Friday, Magoffin County will meet host East Carter. The Hornets will face Rowan County on Saturday.

First pitch for the Magoffin County-East Carter game is set for 6 p.m.

First pitch for the Magoffin County-Rowan County game is slated for 1:30 p.m.

The Big Jack Classic will also feature South Charleston, W.Va.

Magoffin County was visiting Sheldon Clark on Wednesday evening. On Tuesday, Magoffin County hosted and defeated former 15th Region champion Sheldon Clark 10-7.

With the win, Magoffin County improved to 5-9.

Following the loss, Sheldon Clark fell to 7-8.

The latest Magoffin County-Sheldon Clark baseball game ended too late to make this edition.

Magoffin County has additional regular-season games remaining versus Wolfe County (April 28, away), Belfry (April 29, away; May 9, home), Pikeville (May 1, home), Powell County (May 2, away), Johnson Central (May 6, away; May 7, home), Jackson City (May 12, home), Knott County Central (May 13, home) and Pike County Central (May 14, home).
