Students at Magoffin County High School have been given a unique opportunity to participate in the Storm Recovery Ambassador Program.

Jan Redmond from Lexington, KY has coordinated this program along with members of the National Weather Service in Jackson.  Approximately 40 pieces of artwork expressing the student's point of view in relation to recovering from the March 2, 2012 tornado will be displayed on the National Weather Service website and will be exhibited at a school in Lexington, KY in the fall. It is the hope of the students and teachers that the display will continue to be exhibited in many other locations.

The Renaissance Art Club will hold a special reception for the students to display their works on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 pm. at the Renaissance Center in downtown Salyersville. Please join us in celebrating Magoffin County’s talented youth! Refreshments will be served.
