ATV ACCIDENT: Three juveniles taken to hospital

SALYERSVILLE - Three Magoffin juveniles were injured in an ATV accident Thursday night when they allegedly pulled out in front of a vehicle at the intersection of Scotts Branch and KY 378.

Police and rescue crews were called to the scene at approximately 11 p.m. on May 29. All three, listed as females ages 12, 13 and 14 years old, were taken to hospitals for leg injuries. Two were flown from the scene to Cabell Huntington Hospital and University of Kentucky Hospital, with the other transported by ambulance to Pikeville Medical Center. She was transferred and flown from PMC to Cabell Huntington Hospital after her arrival, however, according to an officer with the Magoffin County Sheriff's Office.

Two of the girls were believed to have one broken femur each, with the other girl suspected to have broken both femurs. By Tuesday afternoon, all three of the adolescents had been released from the hospital. 

No arrests have been made in the case, however it is still under investigation. Law enforcement have not released the name of the driver of the other vehicle at this time.

Magoffin County Rescue Squad, Magoffin County Sheriff's Office, Trans-Star, Air Evac Lifeteam 118, Phi Air Medical, Middle Fork Fire Department and Kentucky State Police all responded to the accident.
