SALYERSVILLE - The Morehead State University football program is getting two stellar high school football players from Magoffin County High School. MCHS seniors Dalton Peters and Dillion Williams made their college choices official late last week, signing with the Morehead State University football program on Friday.
Williams led Magoffin County throughout the 2016 season, completing 73-of-119 passes for 1,019 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed for 836 yards and 15 touchdowns, leading the Hornets in both passing and rushing.
In addition to thriving offensively, Williams ranked as Magoffin County's top tackler. One of the state's most underrated high school football players, Williams registered a team-high 92 tackles, 54 of which were solo stops.
Peters ranked as Magoffin County's leading rusher. Playing in nine of Magoffin County's 10 games, Peters rushed 73 times for 310 yards and three touchdowns. Peters hauled in 13 receptions for 124 yards.
Defensively, Peters posted 71 tackles, second-most for the Hornets. Peters compiled 41 solo tackles.
MSU competes in the Pioneer Football League (PFL). The Eagles ended the 2016 season 4-7.
