Silas Cole Jr., age 75, a resident of Silas Cole Road in Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky.
Silas Jr. was born April 29, 1942 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of Silas Sr. and Maggie King Cole. Brothers, Burl, Harold, Phillip, Paul, Gerald, Garland, and sisters, Brenda Montgomery, Mable McDaniel, Fannie Farris, May Cole, and June Cole preceded him in death.
Silas Jr. was a retired truck driver in the coal industry. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and is a Veteran of the Korean War until he was honorably discharged. Silas Jr. attended the Keith Memorial Tabernacle on Route 30 in Salyersville, Kentucky.
Those left to mourn includes wife, Virginia "Ginny" Dyer Cole, whom he married May 31, 1966, of Salyersville, Kentucky, son, Brian Cole of Salyersville, Kentucky, brother, Herlis Cole of Salyersville, Kentucky, sisters, Wanda Salyers of Salyersville, Kentucky, Cheryl Little of Jackson, Kentucky, Judy Farris of Salyersville, Kentucky, a host of family and friends who love and miss him.
Funeral services for Silas Cole Jr. will be conducted Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Esknovah Jackson will deliver comforting words on the day of service. Interment will follow in the Cole Cemetery on Route 30 in Salyersville, Kentucky.
