MEADOWS/ROYALTON – An ambulance worker was injured in an accident while traveling to the scene of another wreck Friday night.
On July 20 crews were called out to a wreck on Kentucky Route 7, in which a tree fell on a van and partially came through the windshield, injuring the female driver, whose status is unknown at press time.
While in route, the Trans-Star ambulance dropped off the roadway, went over the hill and hit, nose-down, on the Dawkins Trail, rotating 180 degrees.
The driver was not injured, however, rescue crews had to cut out the windshield to extricate the female passenger, an EMS worker. She reportedly suffered facial injuries but has since been released from the hospital.
Magoffin County Rescue Squad, Salyersville Police Department, Magoffin County Sheriff Department and District 3 Volunteer Fire Department responded to the two accidents.
