Richard Florian, age 78, a resident of Big Branch Hollow in Banner, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2018 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky.
Richard was born October 23, 1939 in Albion, Michigan the son of the late Leo and Dema Florian. Son, Leon Jones Jr., also preceded him in death.
Richard proudly served his country in the US Army until he was honorably discharged. He worked as laborer, but mostly as a skilled carpenter. He enjoyed anything using his skills on wood.

Catherine Allen Howard age 78 of Middle Fork, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, Kentucky.  She was born February 21, 1940 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Chester and Dora Howard Allen. She was the wife of Wishard "Bush" Howard, who preceded her in death.

Helen Rose Risner Francis age 79 of Shonny Branch Road, Royalton, Kentucky passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Paul B Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. She was born August 6, 1938 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Leck and Hildred Patrick Risner. She was the wife of Palmer Francis, who preceded her in death.

Maxine O. "Memmie" Prater Salyer age 94 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at her home. She was born November 7, 1923 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late C.K. and Zuma Flint Prater. She was the wife of Arvel S. Salyer, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Mielang (Elden) Gamble, and Verla Marlene (Roger) Russell both of Salyersville, Kentucky, one brother, Chrissylee Prater of Louisville, Kentucky, one sister, Margaret Orene Harrington of Flatwoods, Kentucky, six grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.

Mr. William Travis Lunsford, 73, of Sadieville, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington. He was born on October 2, 1944 in Magoffin County Kentucky to Jewel May Lunsford and the late Rev. Robert Bruce Lunsford, Sr. Mr. Lunsford was a retired General Foreman and Supervisor for Cravens & Cravens General Contracting, was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Viney Fork Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Harold Francis Allen age 81 of Cow Creek, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at his home. He was born December 14, 1936 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Dudley and Ella Burton Allen. He was the husband of Jerri Allen, who survives. 
Survivors also include four daughters, Faith Shanks and Charity Cook both of Ohio, and Amber Patrick and Emily Sturgill both of Salyersville, Kentucky, one brother, Ray Allen of Ohio, and eleven grandchildren.

Dovie Lou Maggard Butcher age 92 of Falcon Road, Salyersville, passed away on Sunday morning March 11, 2018 at her home.  She was born July 7, 1925 in Pike County, Kentucky to the late Saul and Mary Elizabeth Belcher Maggard. She was the wife of Drexel Butcher, who preceded her in death.

Ethel Mae Brown Allen age 75 of Long Creek Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at her home. She was born November 6, 1942 in Salt Lick, Kentucky to the late George and Bertha Harmon Brown. She was the wife of Irvin Allen, Jr., who survives. 
Survivors also include two daughters, Linda Sue Brown and Brenda Kay Howard both of Salyersville, Kentucky, one brother, Sammy Brown of Warsaw, Indiana, one sister, Myrtle Mullins of Syracuse, Indiana, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Judge Williams age 96 of Lick Creek Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 at his home. Born November 9, 1921 he was a son of the late Raleigh Williams and the late Ann Gamble. He was the husband of Hortense Howard Williams, who survives.

Alma Castle Jenkins age 85 of Salyersville wife of the late Lloyd Jenkins passed away on Friday March 9, 2018 at the Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.  Born September 15, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Rev. James C. and Amanda Caudill Castle. A member of the Bloomington United Baptist Church she was also a former Sewing Factory employee.
