Only One Mother

You can only have one Mother,
 patient, kind and true,
no other person in all the world,
will be the same as you.
When others forsake you,
To Mother you will return,
For all her loving kindness,
She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all.
Sweet Jesus, take this message,
To our dear Mother up above,

I knew you clothed in a hand-me-down
That didn’t make you complain or frown
The last time I saw you in a hospital gown
But your faith was high; your spirit not down.
My humble gifts you called silk so fine
Your smiles brought tears to these eyes of mine!
You were so good, yet oh so humble
Your lot was hard but you didn’t grumble.
You never failed to do a kind deed
You were always there for those in need!
You loved God and did what was right

You’ve only been gone for a year now.  We were walking up the hill on Decoration Day to place beautiful flowers where your body of clay lay.  As I stand by your grave in the arms of your oldest son, Aaron, and cry about the missing link in our family chain.  The link that will never be completely joined again until we all meet on the crystal shores of heaven’s bright sea.  We realize that we all must pass away as the flowers of summer.  Then, I just watched your sisters and Aaron place flowers on your grave.  The girls started remembering things you would have said to them when they were wo

A new year has come upon us now
Christmas has already passed
But it’s not the same without you two here.
Dustin your birthday is here January 15th
And you would be 25, that’s so unreal.
What a wonderful young man
That I love and miss everyday
and Dad, your birthday is February 13th,
I would listen and talk to you
As you would tell the stories
Of growing up when you were young.
And we have rode a many mile together
As we would take our trips.
Dad and Dustin, how we miss you!

A MILLION TIMES
A million times I’ll miss you,
A million times I’ll cry
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still,
In my heart you hold a place,
No other one can fill.

Loved and missed every day,
