Elvie Olden Blanton, age 76, a resident of Coon Creek in Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Olden was born January 8, 1941, in Salyersville, Kentucky, he is the son of the late Bill and Ada Montgomery Blanton. Also preceding him in death are two sisters, Alma Kaye Blanton and Alpha Gay Blanton, one brother, Carson Blanton.
Olden was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who loved his family dearly.

Geneva Culbertson Rodgers, age 88, of Green Cove Springs, FL., passed away August 3, 2017.  She was born in Salyersville, KY, to parents James Monroe Culbertson and Ida Harmon Culbertson.  She was predeceased by her parents, husband Norvle A Rodgers and son Gerald David Chase, brother James W Culbertson and sister Margaret Meintel.  Mrs.

Ruby Miller Salyer, age 70, a resident of Royalton, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
Ruby was born March 2, 1947 in Decoy, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Joe and Dovie Joseph Miller. Also preceding her in death are five brothers, Elmer Miller, Delmer Miller, JB Miller, Lloyd Miller and Santford Miller, also a niece and nephew Delmer Miller Jr., and Debra Miller.

Jackie Crace age 78 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born April 12, 1939 in Elsie, Kentucky to the late Jim and Lottie Whitt Crace. He was the husband of Joann Robinette Crace, who survives.

Misty Dawn Allen Combs age 41 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born July 7, 1976 in Lexington, Kentucky to Roy "Rooster" and Ella Barnett Allen, who survive. She is the wife of Jamie Combs, who also survives.
Along with her husband and parents, survivors include two daughters, Kayla Combs and Hailey Combs, both of Salyersville, Kentucky, one brother, Roy Keith Allen of Salyersville, Kentucky, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

JB Miller age 62 of Howard Branch Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at his home. He was born March 28, 1955 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Joe and Dovie Joseph Miller. He was the husband of Kathlene Arnett Miller, who survives.

Richard "Joe" Shepherd age 59 of Howard Branch Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born June 25, 1958 in Hippo, Kentucky to the late Archer and Mary Shepherd. He was the husband of Ruth Arnett Shepherd, who survives.

David Earl Tackett age 69 of Browns Branch, Sitka, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at his home. He was born July 9, 1948 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Waymen and Ida Mullins Tackett. He was the husband of Peggy Hall Tackett, who preceded him in death.

Barbara Sue Fletcher Smith, age 78, a resident of Royalton, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Kentucky.
Barbara was born January 20, 1939, in Royalton, Kentucky, she is the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Salyers Fletcher. In addition to her parents, son, James Curtis Gullett, brothers, Dallas Fletcher, Jimmy Fletcher, sisters, Ruby May, Ethel Lawrence, Beverly Fletcher, Elsie Arnett, Teresa Whitaker, precede her in death.
Barbara was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant until her retirement.

Oma Lee McFarlan Lepe, age 85, of Vandalia, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at Walnut Creek Nursing Home. She was born April 16, 1932 in Salyersville, KY to Kelly and Sally (Dyer) McFarlan. Lee came to Dayton shortly after high school and worked at Bell Telephone Company. Later she worked at WPAFB where she met the love of her life Sal, whom she was married to for 63 years. Years later she worked for TWA reservations in downtown Dayton, Elder Beermans and finally at the Vandalia Public Library where she retired.  Lee was a member of St. Christopher Church in Vandalia, OH.
